FIRESIDE
Fireside, an intimate room full of wood details and uncomfortable chairs with a stone fire ring at the center, serves as the main gathering and worship space for Holden Village from fall to spring. Decorating Fireside was a natural creative outlet that kept me tapped into the church year through colors and symbols. The best part is that it was rarely a solo effort! Villagers of all ages and self-professed levels of artistic abilities helped me stitch, cut, paint, and fuss with fabric on supremely uneven surfaces. With so much of community life taking place in Fireside (staff meetings, talent shows, daily sacred space, etc.) each design was seen, touched, and lived with in its own unique way.
